Implementacion de Communicator en Clientes: Debe ser completa!!!! – Communicator Client Implementation: Must be completed!!!

Hola,

cada vez que se hace una implementacion de OCS en un cliente, he visto que extranamente no queda completa en la parte de clientes.

El cliente final, debe quedar con por lo menos 3 clientes instalados:

1. el cliente de communicator y su actualizacion mas reciente

2. el conference add-in

3. el cliente de LiveMeeting

personalmente, cada vez que hago una implementacion, creo una carpeta o folder compartido en el servidor con los instaladores asi:

estos instaladores los he dispuesto en mi skydrive. marcados de la misma manera. con esto se asegura una implementacion completa de los clientes en una infraestructura. se instalan en ese orden de ser posible. los .msp o actualizaciones de Communicator se pueden consolidar y dejar solo la actualizacion mas reciente que es la de Febrero de 2010.

En este documento se indica como probar chat, audio, video, adicion de contactos, restriccion de contactos, creacion de agendamiento de Live Meeting, etc, etc, etc.

Hola,

a lo largo de estos anos, he venido reuniendo mucha documentacion acerca de OCS 2007 y OCS 2007 R2. esta biblioteca de documentos para mi ha sido de muchisima ayuda a la hora de resolver inquietudes.

los que me conocen, saben que uno de mis lemas es: no me las se todas, pero tengo el librito que nos puede sacar de la duda…. :)

asi que, con todo el cariño, aqui comparto mi biblioteca, la biblioteca consolidada de toda la docuementacion posible y relevante que me he encontrado… voy a colocar documentos, presentaciones inclusive estoy buscando la manera de como comprimir los videos…

Avaya ya esta homologada para Direct SIP

dentro del plan de interoperatividad de OCS con diversos esquemas de actores de telefonia tradicionales, hay varios que ya estan homologados para realizar Direct SIP con OCS 2007 R2.

uno de ellos y el mas recientemente incluido es Avaya. esto es una muy buena noticia para el cliente ya que permite, sin necesidad de gateways conectar su plataforma.

Como es natural en nuestro proceso de implementacion, a veces nos da por hacer ciertas cosas “de memoria”, recordando simplemente los pasos. yo siempre digo, la receta sale efectiva y ahorra tiempo. no olvidemos que en el portal de technet de Microsoft esta la receta para hacer la integracion entre OCS y Exchange pero o no es facil encontrarlo en una primera busqueda en el bing o google o simplemente no conocemos este recurso.

Los puertos que se deben abrir para OCS 2007 R2 (EDGE)

Hola a todos,

Uno de los grandes avances de OCS 2007 R2 es el control de puertos y asi mismo es una gran pregunta a la hora de implementar. Cuales son los puertos que se deben abrir en la interfaz externa para mi edge server?

ya estamos de acuerdo que el edge debe tener asignadas tres direcciones ip publicas. esto lo digo no solo por la documentacion sino por mi experiencia en implementacion. recuerden que todos los servicios utilizan el puerto 443 y aunque yo podria cambiar el puerto por defecto esto causara demoras y lios en los clientes.

cada direccion corresponde a un rol dentro del mismo servidor edge:

Access Edge: el cual me permite que el usuario vea el servicio arriba y asi mismo señalice los servicios que va a usar. este mismo permite autenticarse y hacer chat.

Web Conferencing Edge: permite el control de todo lo que habla Live meeting. su contenido transporta PSOM. (PSOM en palabras cristianas es las PPT en formato para Live Meeting)

A/V Edge: todo el trafico de Audio and Video. su contenido es STUN y es UDP.

cada uno de estos “roles” o “servicios” dentro del edge server debe tener su porpia direccion. Estas 3 direcciones pueden estar asignadas en una unica interfaz o en tres interfaces de red (interfaz de red = tarjeta de red).

estas direcciones pueden ser directamente las publicas o de una DMZ (NAT uno a uno en el firewall) y esto ultimo es lo recomendado.

cada una de las tres direcciones publicas debe tener un alias ante internet. ese alias puede ser:

Hola a todos,

ando algo perdido sin actualizar mi blog. realmente me ha hecho falta algo de dedicacion para esto pero bueno. voy a publicar varias cosas que tengo pendientes.

Una de ellas es el Voice Ignite V 2.0 hecho en Colombia en el mes de Febrero de 2010. esto cmo es acostumbraqdo ya, tuvo 24 participantes de todo LATAM y Centroamerica. Mil gracias a todos por su asistencia!!!

Dentro de todo lo que preguntan los clientes acerca de OCS y de la arquitectura recomendada y entorno al tema de virtualizacion es si el proxy server que se debe emplear como recomendacion para la publicacion de los Web Components y del CWA es si ISA es soportado en virtualizacion. y la respuesta es si! si esta soportado. (ISA Server is supported on virtualization environment)

el dia de hoy me encontre que nuestro amigo, el KB974571 no permite la desactivacion de roles tampoco si esta presente en un servidor, por ejemplo de LCS 2005.

removi el KB mencionado y listo!

permitio la desactivacion. como dice Rui Silva en su blog …”Whether you’re superstitious, religious or a devoted fan of Murphy Laws, the naked truth is that sh*t happens!” :)

Licensing Requirement

…“public instant messaging connectivity (PIC) license requirements for Office Communications Server connectivity to the Windows Live and AOL public IM networks. Now, customers with Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard CAL (or equivalent Software Assurance rights) will no longer require an additional license to connect with the millions of people who use Windows Live and AOL for instant messaging and presence. This change took place in July for Windows Live, and is scheduled for AOL in October 2009.”…

Licensing requirements for Public IM Connectivity depends on the service providers you want to connect with and your Communications Server client access licenses.

· Windows Live and AOL: Customers with Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard Client Access License or Office Communications Server 2007/ Live Communications Server 2005 SP1 Standard CAL license with active Software Assurance (SA) qualify for federation with Windows Live Messenger and AOL without additional licensing requirements. Customers who do not meet the qualifying requirement should buy the Office Communications Server Public IM Connectivity license for federation with Windows Live Messenger and AOL.

· Yahoo!: Federation with Yahoo! requires the Office Communications Server Public IM Connectivity (PIC) per user subscription license.

The Office Communications Server PIC license is sold separately on a per-user, per-month basis as a Microsoft service. PIC service licenses are available for Microsoft Volume License customers only.

· Google Talk: Federation with Google Talk can be enabled through the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 XMPP Gateway, available at no additional licensing cost. This Gateway provides presence sharing and instant messaging (IM) with XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) networks like Google Talk.

Provisioning Requirements

To provision your Office Communications Server environment for federation with public IM service providers (Windows Live, AOL, Yahoo!), the following information is required:

· The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of your Access Edge service

· The name of your SIP domain

If Public IM Connectivity licenses were purchased through Microsoft Volume Licensing, details on how to submit this information will be available through the Microsoft Volume Licensing website.

If you qualify for federation with Windows Live and AOL through Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard CAL, please contact your Account Manager for details on submitting information about provisioning your network.

Esta semana ha sido bastatnte agitada por un problema que se esta presentando en los servidores de OCS en la que en forma inexplicable, muestra que esta expirada la version de OCS y que se debe instalar la version full.

buscando en internet, se encontro una referencia http://projectdream.org/wordpress/2009/10/13/kb974571-crypto-api-update-may-break-office-communications-server-2007-r2-installations/

se removieron los parches recien instalados y voila! subieron los servicios. en un cliente me mostro un problema de logon en el servicio al tratar de subirlo, asi que se digito nuevamente la contrasena y listo.

por favor tenganlo en cuenta en sus clientes. esta semana solo en Colombia he tenido tres de estos problemas.
