Plain Concepts will once again be present at the most important annual event of Microsoft technologies – Microsoft Build. On the 6th, 7th and 8th of May, we will be represented by members of the team from the United States and Spain at booth 106, showcasing our latest developments and innovations in Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence.

In this edition, we will present two of the innovation demos developed by the Plain Concepts Labs team: Firstly, an Augmented Reality development to guide technicians in the maintenance process of an industrial electrical panel, and on the other hand, what we call an AI kit, an automous car armed with a variety of sensors and connected to Microsoft’s intelligent cloud.

Industrial Maintenance Process Guidance with Augmented Reality

This demo is built on an electrical panel and shows how a non-specialized operator can perform a maintenance task assisted by a virtual guidance process.

This application is developed for HoloLens integrates artificial intelligence and augmented reality allowing clients to improve and optimize their industrial maintenance processes:

  • Accelerates the training of company staff.
  • Improves and automates repair request processes.
  • Guides the operator through virtual assistants that help him to carry out his work in a more effective way.
  • Optimizes the detection of anomalies thanks to artificial vision.
  • Reduces personnel travel costs and access to support of the most knowledgeable people within a company.

 AI Kit: Autonomous Intelligent Car

You will also have the opportunity to see our autonomous car which scans the environment and uses artificial intelligence to detect objects, spaces, people, obstacles or security failures and is able to move autonomously between people or other vehicles.

The technologies used by our intelligent car are:

  • Azure Cognitive Services
  • Azure Mixed Reality
  • Azure Kinect DK
  • Azure Spatial Anchors
  • Cloud computer vision

The artificial intelligence technologies integrated within the autonomous car can also be implemented to drones and are oriented to applications which are dedicated to the improvement of security, logistics, scanning and certification of work, maintenance, industrial design as well as within a variety of sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, oil & gas, construction and retail.

Visit our booth and speak to our digital transformation experts and see first-hand the potential of augmented reality and artificial intelligence live.
